Excited doesn't begin to convey how I feel about the city's newest brewery. Trubble Brewing is Fort Wayne's most adventurous leap into the world of craft beer and food yet.
Let's be real, I might be a bit biased in this review. The gastropub is four blocks from my apartment and I look forward to crawling up the hill and back to my bed many times over the next year. I've been behind the counter with most of the staff at one point or another so walking in is like walking home.
Trubble is staffed by some of the best employees from local favorites; Bravas, JK O'Donnell's, The Deck, The Dash, and CS3. Walking in, it was like seeing all of my favorite friends and waitstaff in one place.
Secondly, the kitchen is staffed by the brilliant husband-wife team of John and Lindsay Cheesebrew aka BIRD + CLEAVER aka the Food Wizards of Fort Wayne. Their blog has been featured by Huffington Post, looks amazing, and is a seriously drool-worthy. We'll come back to the food.
Last, but certainly not least; the tap selection is on point. Featuring six taps of local and regional beer, it's a delight to see something other than the standards: PBR - Two Hearted - All Day IPA - Yum Yum - etc. Not that I don't love those beers, it's just refreshing to see beer from the incredible inventive brewing community that's blossomed in Indiana. The talented audits of Taxman Brewing (Indy!), Birdboy (Fort Wayne!), and 18th St. (Gary!)
Check out the photos below! Be sure to check out my photos at the brewery. Chad and Keli were kind enough to have my art christen the walls for the first month! Sweethearts.
